Michelle T. Hayes – Michelle is Vice President of Human Resources and Business Solutions. She is a seasoned corporate executive with 25 years experience in business and human resources management at Hannaford Supermarkets, from its days as a Fortune 500 company recognized nationally, through its transition and growth as part of an international enterprise.

As Vice President of Associate Relations, Talent Acquisition & Organization Development and Learning at Hannaford Supermarkets, a division of Delhaize Group, she worked closely with the senior leadership team providing strategic human resources counsel, directing restructuring initiatives and leading hundreds of associate relations professionals at all retail, corporate and distribution facilities.

Michelle's unique background encompasses full Profit and Loss accountability for business units with over $500 million in sales and 2,500 associates. She is experienced in diverse business and personal cultures as a resident of Europe for seven years, and from working with cross-cultural teams on three continents with the Delhaize Group. Her expertise also includes: successful design strategies for recruitment and development of organizational talent; leadership development and coaching; change management; performance management; and demonstrated creativity and skills in problem-solving and financial management.

Michelle earned a BS degree in business administration from Thomas College, is also a graduate of the University of Chicago Executive Marketing Program, and the Babson College School of Executive Development. She has completed extensive study with the National Training Laboratories (NTL) Institute and is a certified Leadership Effectiveness Analysis (LEA) 360 facilitator.

Michelle and her husband Peter live in Scarborough – they have three college-aged children and one son in the Scarborough Public School system where she has been an active volunteer for many years. She currently serves on the boards of the Kids First Center, Fiddlehead Center for the Arts, Saddleback Mountain Association, and is a host family for the Fresh Air Fund.
